St.Petersburg – Valaam – Mandrogi –On sail – Cherepovets – Myshkin - Moscow
The voyage starts in the “Northern Palmyra”. The yacht sails off further to the North, visiting the renowned island-monastery Valaam,and then turns back to the South. The final destination is Moscow, the capital of Russia.
What we plan to do:- In Valaam:
- To set our foot on the Northern Aphonus, see the central estate and the main hermitages of the monastery.
- In Mandrogi:
- To stand under the oak form famous fairy-tale by Pushkin, walk along the craftsmen house; share a meal according to old Russian traditions.
- In Cherepovets:
- To find out the city is not only an industrial center with a huge metallurgical works. It boasts a long history and rich cultural heritage that you will discover touring the main sites.
- In Myshkin
- To feel the charm of authentic Russian province in this tiniest town of the route.
- Day 1
St.Petereburg - Embarkation. Departure (departure time varies; cruising duration is 15-16 hours).
- Day 2
Valaam - Arrival. Walking tour around the central estate. Visit to Nicholsky, Voskresensky, Gefsimansky hermitages; hermitage of All the Saints (by bus).
- Day 3
Mandrogi - Walking tour around the Russian village, visit to craftsmen house, Vodka museum with vodka tasting, Zoo, Lukomorye (a park with wooden sculptures). Lunch in the open air (shashlyk) to Russian folk music.
- Day 4
On sail - Day 5
Cherepoverts - City tour: Sobornaya Gorka (Cathedral hill), Voskresensky avenue, Octyabrsky bridge, metallurgist’s square. Visit to museum of the famous Russian painter Vereschagin.
- Day 6
Myshkin - Walking tour with visits to: The unique Mouse museum. “Russian valenky” museum. Exhibition “Transformation of linseed”. Assumption Cathedral.
- Day 7
Moscow - rrival. Excursion program (upon request). Disembarkation.
